October News

October! I've been waiting on you. There's a fresh energy that quietly creeps in with October. The previous months were just practicing. October gets it right! Am I the only one?

Not a whole lot new going on. I do feel like I need to address the Nashville record. That's what I have been calling it, anyway. If you didn't know, Last November, I recorded 10 songs, some old, some new, in Nashville at Ronnie's Place Studio. The studio has a large history, and was previously owned by Ronnie Milsap (and Roy Orbison before him), is now owned and operated by Black River Entertainment. The plan was to release a new album September/October of this year. Well, obviously we missed the mark. Although what we did there in 3 days was pretty impressive, there are some things that need to be corrected, added, or re-done on a couple songs. Which, is to be expected, really. But, the main hold up has been in Production of the Nashville recordings. The engineer has had a few unfortunate happenings to deal with since taking on my project. Two very unexpected family deaths, only months apart, along with just working everyday in the business, it's understandable that we are way behind schedule. That being said, I have asked for, and received, a copy of the Nashville recording session. I have been upgrading my home studio over the last year, and plan to upload the Nashville recordings into my home system and do the production over the fall/winter myself. I did the production on my first record, UnIncorporated, and although it's not a polished studio sound, it has done very well for me in the underground roots music scene. I have since learned a few things, but I would expect a sound very close to the UnIncorporated record, and hopefully, at least slightly better. This isn't at all a bad thing. Just disappointing, that I can't release the new record on time. As I regroup and rethink the new record, I may change the direction a little. The original idea was to rerecord my best songs from my first two records, in a real studio, to give a better, more legitimate representation of the songs. But while waiting to release this record, I have been writing new songs. So, I may just take a few of the Nashville recordings and add more new songs, recorded in my home studio, or I can do both. I have a LIVE recording of a show I did with (Lucky Tubb's) The Modern Day Troubadours in Buffalo, New York, that I have been sitting on. And, I also have 10 songs recorded in a studio close to home in 2019 that have never been released. So there's a few ways I could spin this deal. I really just need to load it all in my home studio and sort it all out. Bottom line is I'm releasing new music soon. Maybe by the end of 2026, maybe the beginning of 2027, maybe both. Or, all of that and then another record at the end of 2027. My plate is full and my head is beginning to hurt. Onward.

If you're in or near Fayetteville, NC Saturday, October 24, I need you at Festival Park! It's the Battle for the Mainstage for a shot to play The Fayetteville Dogwood Festival next Spring. There are 17 bands performing throughout the day. First band goes on at 10:30am, Last band goes on at 6:30pm. I go on at 2pm. Everyone gets 15 minutes. There will be a variety of food trucks and beverages, along with along with booths featuring local arts, crafts, and community vendors. There will be a lot of fun and entertainment for everyone. There's an event listed on my SHOWS page that I'll keep updated as I get additional information. If you can make it, I sure could use your support. Let's show 'em how we do it!

Follow and Share my Facebook Music Page. I restarted my page about a year ago and lost half of my followers somehow. I always have a large crowd wherever I play. I feel like I’m being muted by the Facebook authority, but who knows. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
